tuesday workshop 1

we had to do five minute drawings in response to a particular word.

hard
i hate choosing and find it really hard
(first drawing of the day hence it's shockingness)

sharp
sharp tongue

turgid
slow sluggish car
(again terrible, and i didn't know what the word meant...)

guilty
judges hammer and the uneven line/mark-making represents the feeling of unease and uncertainty.

unknown
space/the universe.

breathless
diaphragm + scribbles

anxious
butterflies in the stomach + nervous awkward scribbles and marks.

procrastinate
general doodling, and procrastinating bothering to do neat small squares... ish.

anger
brain on over-load, over-spilling.

dark
heavy dark things.

it was a quite useful morning over all and we produced a good mornings work in an hour or so.

hunterian museum

on friday we went to the huntarian museum and had to draw 30 things under numerous titles.
it was really interesting, and definately worth a visit.
but i'm not really into foetal babies in jars, i think thats quite sad to see.
interesting none the less.
it was quite strange as i found my rushed quick drawings look a lot better than the laboured ones.
i've still got five more to do, which i may upload at a later date.

british museum

last thursday we had a trip to the british museum.
we were all given a topic, and told to do fifty drawings on this them.
mine was 'wash'.
this is only forty something of them as i forgot to save it with all of them on one page.
i found it really hard to actually find fifty things on this topic, and then drawing them wasn't that great as the objects didn't interest me that much.
hence the rushed rubbish appearance of it all.
bleurghhh.

baba yaga's hut

baba yaga lives in a hut in the woods, which has a hen's head on top and chicken's legs below.

why did the chicken cross the playground?
to get to the other slide.

cabaret

our project at the moment is to create a performance of a slavic folk tale, it can be whatever you want, an inspirational dance, acted play, abstract movement thing, animation whatever really.
we've got the story baba yaga, it is sort of like hansel and gretal but without all the sweets. we've got the performance of it the day after tomorrow. im worried.
we're going to film and present a puppet show, so watch this space.
this weeks museum visit was to the hornimann museum, down in forest hill. we had to draw thirty objects and then create like a diorama snapshot composition of the drawings. here are a few of the not-so-great drawings anyway.

i wanted to draw a shark, but there weren't any so i didn't.

doodles and sketches

i saw the left on a t-shirt.
the right is of st. katherines dock.
sweet peas, first page of the moleskin so i figured some effort was compulsory.
triangles to the left and weird mouth tree stump thing on the right.
i cant be bothered to finish this.
